Web 1.0 and 2.0

Well I was in my internet authoring class the other day, and apparently there are different versions of the internet. Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, and I have to admit, I didn't know this. *shame face*
But hey its a Learning Experience... So if your like me I'll keep it short. Apologies in advance for the bad cut and paste.

Web 1.0:

So this wiki says that Web 1.0 was an early stage of the conceptual evolution of the World Wide Web, centered around a top-down of the World wide Web, centered around a top-down approach to the use of the web and its user interface.n approach to the use of the web and its user interface.Web 1.0 was an early stage of the conceptual evolution.

And web 2.0 is Web 2.0 was coined in 1999 to describe web sites that use technology beyond the static pages of earlier web sites. It is closely associated with Tim O'Reilly because of the O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference which was held in late 2004. Although Web 2.0 suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specification, but rather to cumulative changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web.

In other words the difference between the two is simply a matter of concepts, and application.
The World Wide Web and internet are evolutionary entities which change with time and each generation. We can only guess whats coming next.
